I’ve always liked this song for some reason. I remember the summer of 1995. I had my first “real” job, waiting tables for the lunch crowd at The Crazy Tomato, then heading to “West Side Story” rehearsal. My car had no air conditioning, so after driving in the late afternoon heat, I’d get to practice looking like I’d just finished swimming. This song was on what might have been the most memorable mixed tape I’ve ever had. It had Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose’ on it, so every time I hear that song, I think of that dorky summer.
In YouTube surfing, I came across this little kid TEARING UP THE GUITAR with this version.

Wow. Certain arrangements of music make me emotional and that was one of them. I actually like that better then the original. Now if I can just learn to play it like that…
I’m AMAZED at this dude. He has SEVERAL other familiar songs, including classical, pop and more… as well as some unfamiliar ones. This song itself has always kind of gotten me anyway. And like you said, Sean, this arrangement is EXTRA strong.
That was a fun summer, and you’re right, this song does work to pretty much sum it up.
