I read somewhere that people are beginning to call the NBC show “Community” to the new “30 Rock”.  I may agree.  The end of the show is always some very strange vignette, usually completely unrelated to the show’s plot, but just a peek into the lives of the characters.  This one was probably my favorite.

Looks like another video game movie.  Will it be a “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” or a “Super Mario Bros.”?  Only time will tell, but with interesting source material and Disney dollars behind it, it’s already got a leg up on most.  What do you think?

I’m really excited about the upcoming premiere for the movie next weekend.  I don’t know exactly how much I’ve talked about it on my site, so here goes.  It’s called “victimEYES” and is about a serial killer who is caught halfway through his last kill, and is only able to blind the girl.  Months later, after escaping from custody, he comes back for her.  It’s a thriller with a TINY bit of violence, but mostly just suspenseful tension stuff.

It’s an independent, ZERO-budget film that we made to have fun.  We HAVEN’T bought our tickets for the Oscars, we’re NOT preparing our acceptance speeches for the Golden Globes, but we did have a blast going through the process of making a movie from beginning to end.

I play Jason Karnes, the killer.  It was directed by Lewis Chaney, a former news photographer and now assignment editor for my station.  We shot it around 3-4 years ago, but he’s just now finished up editing, and we’ve done a bit of marketing (posters, DVDs, etc) and arranged a premiere at the Henderson Fine Arts Center in Henderson, KY.

Anyone ever used Google AdSense?  I’ve never tried it before, but thought I’d give them a small window on my site to begin earning my fortune.  I’m sure with the high volume traffic I get on here right now, I’ll be able to quit my job next week or so.

I’ve been away from the site recently.  No real reason in particular, but my rehearsals for the Civic Theatre show I just got done with didn’t help.  Games have been relatively slow recently, which is nice.  It’s been great bleeding more fun out of Halo 3.  Darren picked it up within the last six weeks or so, and we’ve been playing a lot of it.  He’s gotten where he’s able to hold his own pretty quickly, and can take me out in some interesting ways now, including this beauty below.  I’m the purple guy.  He’s off-camera with a rocket launcher.

Darren, Chris and I recently played a round of Halo 3.  Darren, being a beginner, was dropped frequently as he learned the weapons, the vehicles and the controls altogether.   The next night, he decided to cut a musical montage of his more interesting deaths, which I begged him to let me upload and share. I’m not sure if it’s coincidental, but my computer died over the weekend.  It wouldn’t ever post after the storms.  It might have been a power surge.  It might have been a known issue with my motherboard being prone to overheating.  If it was overheating, it’s awfully coincidental that it happened during the storms.

Anyway, I’ve had to replace the mainboard and the memory.  I ordered the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and 4GB of RAM from a brand I’d never heard of; Mushkin.  I got a deal for ordering them together from NewEgg, plus $30 in total mail-in rebates that I hope I’ll get back.

I’ll have to install Windows 7 clean on it.  (Have you ever tried to switch mainboards on Windows?  It’s gets TICKED.)

So, hopefully I’ll be back up and online later tonight, perhaps even in 64-bit glory.
